A new mod allows players to slaughter defenseless children inhabiting the world of Skyrim for the first time.

Skyrim Mod Allows You to Murder Children

Bethesda’s open-world RPG, The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, empowers players by giving them a lot of freedom in controlling how they experience the game. Last week, we posted a tongue-in-cheek video illustrating how you can take this to an extreme level by playing the game as a mindless first-person action game.

But there’s at least one thing Skyrim prohibits you from doing: killing innocent children. That is, until now.

On the Skyrim Nexus modding community website, a modder by the name Xylozi has created the “Killable Children” mod, which removes Bethesda’s block against physically harming children in the game. Normally when you attempt to attack children in Skyrim, they flee in the opposite direction. But now you can kill children as much as you want.

Prohibiting players from harming children has appeared in previous Bethesda games like Fallout. It’s quite clear the developer doesn’t want players engaging in this kind of behavior. But even though this is clearly a fantasy game set in a fictional world unlike our own, should there be lines that we as gamers won’t cross?
