Harmonix announces that the Rock Band 3 Avatar Store is now open, and its first special offer will get you in the mood for the 27th annual MTV Video Music Awards.

The items include a Moonman — the same award given to winners of the annual MTV Music Video Awards — and a Moonman suit that transforms your avatar into the iconic MTV symbol. A variety of Rock Band 3 merchandise is also available, such as new outfits, shoes, shirts, music instruments (such as a Fender Stratocaster, a keyboard, and drums), etc. It ranges from 80 ($1) to 400 ($5) Microsoft Points.

Music from various VMA nominees, such as Lady Gaga, Green Day, The Black Keys, Gorillaz, and more are highlighted in the Rock Band Music Store. Tracks from Snoop Dogg will join that lineup September 7.
