Cloud-based on-demand gaming service OnLive today announced the highly anticipated introduction of Wi-Fi support, a half-off Labor Day sale, and an extension of its Founding Members Program.

Where the OnLive instant-play gaming service has insofar been limited to hard-wired connections, September 6th will see the launch of a Wi-Fi Beta program, which will allow both Mac and PC gamers to connect to the OnLive cloud servers via a wireless internet connection.

“Wi-Fi support has been the most requested feature among OnLive members, so we made it a top development priority and were able to roll out a Beta version ahead of schedule,” said Mike McGarvey, OnLive’s COO in the press release. “We’re continuing to add new features and enhance the service, as well as expand the list of top new release games. We’re also pleased to provide outstanding promotions, such as the 50% off game sale and the AT&T Founding Members Program, as the OnLive community continues to grow. Stay tuned for more offerings, new features and great titles.”

Labor Day will also see the launch of a half-off sale on every OnLive title in the service’s cloud-based library, as well as an extension of the Founding Members subscription program. Presented by wireless service provider AT&T, the Founding Members Program offers a free one-year subscription to the OnLive service, as well as an optional second year at $4.95 a month afterward.
