Capcom reveals new Mega Man Legends, Resident Evil for 3DS
Capcom reveals two games it is developing for Nintendo’s upcoming 3D hand-held. Mega Man Legends 3 Project and Resident Evil: The Mercenaries 3D were announced during the Nintendo Conference 2010 in Japan earlier today.
At that event Nintendo also announced that the 3DS will launch in Japan February 26, and in North America and Europe in March of next year. The system will retail for ¥25,000 (US$298) in Japan.
Mega Man Legends 3 Project is a continuation of the action role-playing game series that debuted on the PlayStation nearly ten years ago. Capcom promises favorite heroes, villains, and gameplay delivered in an all-new way utilizing the 3DS technology. Capcom plans to reveal more details about the game at New York Comic-Con next month. Mega Man Legends 3 Project Game Director Masakazu Eguchi and Executive Producer Keiji Inafune talk more (but reveal little) at the company’s Unity blog.
Resident Evil: The Mercenaries 3D is an action game where players complete missions in a set amount of time. The game re-imagines the mercenary missions from Resident Evil 4 and 5, and features new modes, familiar characters from the series, and cooperative play using 3DS WiFi connectivity. A post on the Unity blog introduces the game to the masses.
