Capcom’s taking an interesting approach to spreading the word about an upcoming event for Dead Rising 2 at the PAX Prime. Instead of the traditional “Come play X with us,” Capcom’s public-relations handlers are wrapping up the event in the guise of a hardware-store sale.

The flyer for the special sale at “Greene’s Hardware Store” on Friday, Sept. 3 advertises “blockbuster sales of your favorite combo weapons and accessories only walking distance from the convention center.”

In other words, Capcom’s announcing an event for Dead Rising 2 where you’ll get to play with the game’s combo weapons. The event’s at 909 Western Ave. in Seattle. The first 50 attendees also receive a prize (sadly, it’s not the awesome-looking “Freedom Bear” that would look perfect on Stephen Colbert’s desk on The Colbert Report.)
