Two DLC packs already planned for Mafia 2; one’s a PS3 launch exclusive
2K Games revealed its plans for the first two downloadable packs for the August-due Mafia 2, both of which will focus on a character named Jimmy, and one of which will be a PlayStation 3 exclusive and free with purchase of a new copy of the game.
The first DLC, entitled “The Betrayal of Jimmy,” will be available only on the PlayStation 3 when the game releases on August 27. The DLC will unlock a bounty of new missions that the player will get to tackle as a new playable character named Jimmy. The DLC will incorporate leader boards that track points earned for stunts, and as discovered earlier in the week, the pack will come with new trophies. While 2K has set a price tag of $10 for “The Betrayal of Jimmy,” players who purchase new copies of Mafia 2 will get a voucher code to score the content for free.
The second batch of content will be coming to the PC, PS3 and Xbox 360 and will be entitled “Jimmy’s Vendetta.” In this expansion of the story, the player will be tasked with helping Jimmy in various missions, some of which will be set in new areas. No date or price has been set for “Jimmy’s Vendetta” yet.
Multi-console owning Mafia-lovers — is the exclusive PS3 content pushing you towards a purchase on that console, or are there other factors pushing you towards the PC and Xbox 360.
