It’s worth keeping an eye on the trophy list for two of 2K’s most popular franchises, as the MLB All-Star game brings a brief opportunity to earn a timed achievement while a recently revealed list of PS3 trophies for Mafia 2 is hinting at what will constitute the game’s exclusive content.

For owners of Major League Baseball 2K10 on HD consoles, today offers up perhaps the only opportunity gamers will ever have to obtain the game’s ‘Mid-Summer Classic’ Silver Trophy (on the PlayStation 3) and 40-point Achievement (on the Xbox 360). The in-console award is given when the player boots up MLB 2K10’s ‘MLB Today’ mode and plays today’s day-specific game–the MLB All-Star game.

A less-pressing Trophy development has also come up for 2K’s other baseball bat-friendly franchise–Mafia. A newly revealed list of Trophies for the PS3-exclusive ‘Jimmy’s Vendetta’ Mafia 2 DLC is providing hints at the content included in the Sony-only add-on. The 10 Trophies–divided into eight Bronze and two Silver awards–promise to reward players for destroying hundreds of cars and enemy heads, while notching kills and miles driven in the thousands, hinting at a lengthy non-Xbox adventure.
