With over 300 downloadable games in Microsoft’s Xbox Live Arcade, many games aren’t getting the promotion they deserve. The dashboard architects are hoping to fix that by redesigning the service in an effort they call ‘Destination Arcade.’

Destination Arcade, which will be included in the July 14 Xbox 360 update, includes a drastically different design from the current Xbox Marketplace and the Xbox Dashboard as a whole. Behind the new look is a suite of searching options, as customers can categorize games by price and user ratings, among other criteria. Destination will also include a news feed that highlights the most recent releases, price drops, and add-ons.

In his teaser post, Larry “Major Nelson” Hryb also mentions a ‘recommendation engine,’ which can be seen in some of the images on Flickr(one of which is shown above), but its still not clear how it works , particularly in comparison to Netflix’s more robust system. Regardless, we won’t have to wait long, as the new look will debut in eight days.
