Hulu Plus preview beginning for select PlayStation Plus users today
Hulu’s premium streaming service is making its first console appearance, as select PlayStation Plus subscribers will get to opt-in to Hulu Plus before it fully launches. Read on for the first details of the Plus-sized preview.
The premium subscription PlayStation Plus service, which launched a little over two weeks ago at the rate of $50 for a year and $18 for three months, is the key to gaining access to Hulu Plus. An announcement sent out by Sony Computer Entertainment America has stated that “a select group of PlayStation Plus subscribers will gain access to a preview version of Hulu Plus for an additional $9.99 per month.” The announcement does not provide any additional information regarding which users will get the first crack at the service, but it does provide hope for all PlayStation Plus users, as the app will be available to all subscribers and will have an option for them to request a preview.
If you are wary on having to subscribe to two services to take part in Hulu Plus, PlayStation representatives have confirmed that the final version of the streaming service will not require a PlayStation Plus subscription. Previous reports have placed the full release of Hulu Plus on the PS3 in July, but the announcement was devoid of any mention of a release date for the non-preview version. Rest assured, GamePro will get its hands on Hulu Plus as soon as possible and keep you updated on the status of the service as it changes.
