Driver delayed, Conviction sells 1.9 million UPDATE
Ubisoft sent out several announcements this morning ahead of its first quarter 2010-11 earnings call. Among other highlights, Splinter Cell: Conviction sold 1.9 million units and Driver: San Francisco got bumped from a third quarter 2010 holiday release to fourth quarter.
“This year’s E3 further confirmed the potential for our end-of-year line-up, demonstrating how varied and distinct our offering is,” Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot said in a statement.
Sales-wise, Ubisoft is doing much better than they expected. Their estimated sales for the first quarter are at €160 million ($202 million USD), up 93 percent from €83 million ($105 million USD) recorded for this same period last year.
UPDATE: Ubisoft confirmed today that the actual sales were €161 million ($206.9 million USD), for a 94 percent increase over last year.
Ubisoft hopes to continue this strong trend with it’s planned 2010-11 releases of Just Dance 2, Your Shape: Fitness Evolved, Michael Jackson: The Experience, Tom Clancy’s H.A.W.X. 2, and R.U.S.E.
