Don Bluth’s famous animated arcade games have seen their fair share of individual ports, but Destineer is bringing his entire collection to a console in a single game for the first time, packaging Dragon’s Lair 1, Dragon’s Lair 2, and Space Ace to the Wii with the Dragon’s Lair trilogy.

Dragon's Lair 1 & 2, Space Ace headed to Wii in the Dragon's Lair trilogy

Depending on your official count, Dragon’s Lair has been on a number of different platforms, ranging from a few dozen to “holy crap, over 60.” While owners of the Atari Jaguar, Coleco Adam, and HD-DVD players have had their chance to play the interactive animated game, the current top-selling console has went without an appearance by Dirk the Daring. That will change this fall as Detineer has promised to deliver both Dragon’s Lair games alongside Space Ace in a $30 package entitled Dragon’s Lair Trilogy.

So far, no mention has been made of incorporating motion controls into the prompt-based gameplay, but Destineer has mentioned a few accouterments for the upcoming release. Besides the fact that it will be the first console release to encompass all three of Don Bluth’s arcade hits, Dragon’s Lair Trilogy will also feature both full and widescreen versions of the game, the latter of which has been created from the remastering made for the game when it released in high-definition.

You can read more about the upcoming package in the source link below. Any fans considering this new collection, or have you found a favorite Dragon’s Lair port already amongst the dozens of others?
