Nintendo ans Six Flags theme parks just made summer more interesting with a nationwide Wii Games tournament featuring Wii Sports Resort Basketball and Bowling, Wii Fit Plus’s Hulu Hoop Challenge, racing in Mario Kart Wii, and platforming in New Super Mario Bros.

Between July 16 and September 5, people of all ages can compete in tournaments at various Six Flags parks in California, Texas, Illinois, Georgia, Massachusetts and New Jersey. Tournament events are also planned for 16 different shopping malls, and tehre’s an online sweepstakes for those who can’t make it out to either location.

Players can join the competition in teams of two and four in Teen, Adult, Super Adult, and combined age categories. Team scores across all five events determine the total score and advancement. Qualifying players get the chance to compete in the national championship in Los Angeles the weekend of September 3. Prizes include Nintendo systems and games, home entertainment packages, a cruise, and trophies.
